COVID-19 UPDATE

Waste collections are an essential service and Smart Environmental will continue to operate as normal where possible. However, there may be some changes to the way we operate in order to help slow the spread of COVID-19 and to protect our customers, members of the public and our valued staff.

Waste collection services

Most of our kerbside collections for our residential will remain in operation as normal. However, please note that some collections may vary depending on local council instruction as the dynamics, and response to covid can be changeable. To keep updated please visit your council website for more information.

To help our team remain safe, we ask that you please do not overfill your bins above the lip, as spillages would require manual handling. We are aiming to provide a contactless service.

If your bin is not collected on your scheduled day, please continue to keep it accessible or on the kerbside, as we may be delayed due to slower than normal collection methodology.

If you are placing your wheelie bin out to the kerbside, make sure you position it somewhere easily accessible to the driver. Maintain a minimum of two metres distance between yourself and our team.

Skips {Essential Service Support Only}

To ensure essential services may continue to operate, we are able to provide skip services with some additional safety rules.
If we provide your skip service, we can only do so if:

• we can deliver and collect the bin without breaching the 2m physical distancing rule;
• the bin is not overloaded – we must be able to put a cover over the bin to be able to transport the waste for disposal.

Transfer Stations and Materials Recovery Facilities

Please note that local facilities may have limited access and may be closed to the general public.

Facilities will be open to commercial customers who are deemed an essential service. For open hours and access times please visit your council website for more information.
