Parks & Reserves
At Smart Environmental we have substantial experience in developing and maintaining gardens, parks and reserves. You can talk to us about individual grounds services or a complete grounds management solution incorporating turf management, mowing, vegetation control, irrigation, arboricultural and horticultural services. Our clients include central and local government authorities, schools, commercial companies and Sportsfields.
Mowing
We mow grass areas ranging from road side berms, road reserves and banks to large scale housing and property developments, school grounds, corporate facilities and other open spaces.
We have a selection of commercial grade mowing equipment from small ride on mowers to large tractor mounts. We use a combination of rear, side or Flail mowing decks depending on the area to be mown and the changing needs of our clients.
Vegetation Control
Smart Environmental offers a range of solutions for control of grass edges, unwanted vegetation, plant pests and noxious weeds. We utilise both chemical and mechanical methods of vegetation control, dependant on the needs of the client, type of vegetation and locality that the control is required.
Our 'Grow Safe' qualified staff have vast experience working with a range of chemicals and can offer spray application of both organic and synthetic weed controls.
Through our many years experience in grounds maintenance, we are confident that our expertise in vegetation control, along with our scheduling and systems, will ensure your grounds environment will look attractive and well maintained.
Noxious Vegetation
Maintaining control of noxious weeds is important for the health of habitats, wildlife and native plants. Our qualified spray operators have experience in a range of chemicals that are appropriate for noxious weed control and are able to assess the best solution for removal and control of your noxious vegetation. The method we use to control noxious weeds will depend on the environment and surrounding habitat.

Design
Smart Environmental has a wide range of experience in creating garden designs and concept plans as well as working with landscape architects to implement and plant their designs. Our team has an expert knowledge of plants and is easily able to transform your ideas and needs into a beautiful garden or landscape. We work closely with specialist hard landscaping contractors in sub contract arrangements for large projects.
Planting & Maintenance
We specialise in long term maintenance contracts that cover all elements of horticultural maintenance such as pruning, weeding, soil reconditioning, fertiliser application, mulching and pest control. We currently maintain thousands of different gardens throughout New Zealand with a variety of plants and environments to consider.
When maintaining gardens, we ensure that best horticultural practices are observed at all times, gardens are healthy and well shaped, flowering potential of plants and shrubs is maximized to provide an attractive display and gardens have adequate supply of ground material such as mulch.
We have planted gardens for a range of clients, in a variety of mediums, using a multitude of plant types. Our experience has seen us do everything from building new garden beds, planting annual beds and everything in between.
Hedges
Hedges are generally long term features and require appropriate maintenance to ensure healthy growth and that the hedge continues to provide the function it was put in place for. We offer hedge maintenance under the scope of our long term maintenance contracts.
